Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our grip replacement, club repair, and custom build services.

Grip Replacement Questions

How long does a grip replacement take?
+

Most grip replacements are completed same-day, often within a few hours. Full sets typically take 2-4 hours depending on the number of clubs and any additional services requested. If you need your clubs by a specific time, just let us know when you drop them off.

What grip brands do you carry?
+

We stock the complete range of Golf Pride (including Tour Velvet, MCC Align, CP2 Pro, Z-Grip), Lamkin (Crossline, Genesis, UTX), Winn (Dri-Tac, Excel, V62), and Tacki-Mac. If you're looking for something specific, we can usually get it in within a few days.

How often should I regrip my clubs?
+

For most golfers, once per season (every 40-60 rounds) is recommended. If you play frequently, play in humid conditions, or notice your clubs feeling slippery, you may need to regrip more often. There's no downside to regripping sooner—in fact, Tour players regrip every few weeks.

What size grip do I need?
+

Most men play standard size. Midsize works well for those with larger hands or who prefer reduced vibration. Women and juniors typically need undersize. We can help you measure and select the right size when you visit—just ask!

Do you offer bulk discounts for full sets?
+

Yes! Full set regripping (8+ clubs) is discounted compared to per-grip pricing. The exact savings depend on the grip selected. Ask when you call or stop by—we're happy to quote the total before you commit.

Can you match grips across my whole set?
+

Absolutely—and we recommend it. Consistent grip feel across all clubs helps with muscle memory and shot consistency. Different clubs with different grip textures or sizes can disrupt your rhythm. We can match new grips to existing ones too.

Club Repair Questions

What club problems can you repair?
+

We handle loose iron heads, bent shafts (when safe to do so), ferrule replacement, wood head re-gluing, lie angle adjustments, and more. If you have a damaged club, bring it in and we'll assess whether repair is possible—or if replacement makes more sense.

How long does club repair take?
+

Simple repairs like loose head re-seating typically take 2-3 days. More complex repairs may take 5-7 days. We can often accommodate rush requests for an additional fee—just ask when you drop off your clubs.

Can you fix a cracked clubhead?
+

Unfortunately, cracked clubheads cannot be structurally repaired—the only solution is replacement. We can help you source replacement heads or recommend complete club options if your clubhead is cracked or significantly damaged.

Is shaft straightening safe?
+

It depends on the extent of the bend. Minor bends from cart path impacts are often fine to straighten. Severe bends or kinks can compromise the shaft's integrity. We'll assess each club and tell you honestly if straightening is safe—or if replacement is the better option.

Do you guarantee repairs?
+

We guarantee our workmanship for 30 days. If a repair fails under normal use, we'll fix it for free. We can't control how you use your clubs—if you hit another cart path, that's on the path, not the repair.

How much does club repair cost?
+

Loose head repair starts at $35/club. Ferrule replacement is $25/club. Shaft straightening is $45/club. We provide upfront quotes before starting any work—no hidden fees or surprises.

Custom Club Questions

How long does a custom build take?
+

Most custom builds take 2-3 weeks. This includes time to order components, receive them, and assemble the clubs with proper techniques. We'll give you an estimated completion date when you place your order.

How much do custom clubs cost?
+

Pricing varies based on components selected. Driver builds start at $399, iron sets at $899/set, and wedges at $179/each. We provide detailed quotes upfront so you know exactly what you're paying before we order any parts.

Can you match new clubs to my existing set?
+

Absolutely. If you're adding to an existing set, we'll match the specs of your current clubs—same swing weight, length, and feel. This ensures consistency across your entire bag.

Other Questions

Do you ship clubs for repair?
+

Absolutely. We accept shipped clubs from anywhere in the US. Include a note with your contact info and what's needed, and we'll handle the rest. We ship back using insured carriers—the cost is typically $25-40 each way depending on the package size.

What are your business hours?
+

We're open Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, and Saturday 9am to 4pm. We're closed on Sundays. Drop-ins are welcome during business hours, but calling ahead ensures we can give your clubs our full attention.
